1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together:

4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar together, then add eggs and cream in the vanilla. When batter looks fluffy, mix in the flour mixture until blended. Gather the dough into 2 balls.

Cut each dough ball into fourths and roll the fourths of dough pieces into long sticks about 1 inch thick. Cut sticks diagonally about 1 inch apart. Place pieces on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 8 minutes.
