HARD CANDY | |
4 c. sugar 1 c. water 1 c. white syrup Red food coloring 1/8 fluid ounce cinnamon oil (not flavoring) Bring sugar, water, and syrup to a boil. Boil to 300 degrees, hard crack stage. Quickly stir in food coloring (whatever color you want) and cinnamon oil. Be very careful not to breath this too deeply as it will take your breath away. Before you start your candy spray a cookie sheet (one with sides) with Pam and sit outside to get cold. As soon as candy is stirred good take outside and pour into cold cookie sheet. Let set outside until candy hardens (probably about 45 minutes or so.) Bring inside and crack with a knife handle, rub with confections sugar to prevent sticking. Store in tin or glass containers, it will taste plastic containers. |
