EASY DROP BISCUITS
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup cold buttermilk (place in refrigerator until needed)
4 tbsp. butter at room temperature.
1 tbsp. sugar

Preheat oven to 475°F.

Lightly grease a baking sheet.

Measure dry ingredients into a medium bowl (sifting is not necessary). Add butter and milk to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (do not overwork the batter!)

Immediately drop by 1/4 cupfuls onto baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-15 minutes.

For larger biscuits, drop by half cupfuls onto baking sheet about 3 inches apart, and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Biscuits are done when golden brown on top and lightly browned on the bottom.

Cooks Note: Biscuits may be brushed with cream or egg wash before baking, if an extra sheen is desired. To make egg wash, beat 1 egg with 1 tablespoon water.

This is the very best biscuit recipe I have ever made!!! I make it 3-4 x a week! We have these for breakfast, I put leftovers in the freezer. I am making them tonight to go with my potato soup! I mix garlic and cheese to go with Pizza instead of breadsticks! My family loves them and never gets tired of them!!! Yummmmmmmm!!!!!!

OMG ! this is an awesome recipe. But I put a stick of butter in it and not 4 tbsp. as per recipe. I used my fingers to mix it very well ...cut the margarine up in slices before I mixed it. Then added cold buttermilk. I am awe struck by these. You have to try them just once to see they are the best I've ever tasted!

I have made theses the past two days for my 2 year old son who loves biscuits and he cant get enough. They are so delicious.

And I didn't have buttermilk I just used regular milk and coated the biscuits with butter before they went in the oven and after they came out. AMAZING. So quick and simple. Thank you for sharing

These were great, only thing I did was add 2 extra tbsp. butter, and some fresh dill, and I didn't have buttermilk so I made my own with a cup milk with 1tbs white vinegar mixed in it. They came out so flaky and moist! Brush a little melted butter on top and wow!
