SOUR CREAM WALNUT CAKE 
1/2 c. soft butter
1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and 1 cup sugar until blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each, until mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in sour cream and vanilla.

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to first mixture and beat until smooth. Spread half of batter in greased 9 inch square baking pan.

Mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar, the walnuts and cinnamon. Sprinkle about 2/3 of mixture over batter. Spread with remaining batter. Sprinkle with remaining nut mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until pick inserted near center comes out clean. Serve warm or cool from pan.
