GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. Crisco or butter 4 egg yolks 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk 1 pkg. German Sweet chocolate dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water & cooled 2 1/2 c. cake flour 1 tsp. vanilla 4 egg whites beaten stiff 1/2 tsp. salt Cream butter and sugar thoroughly and add other ingredients in the order given. Bake at 350 degrees. Makes three 10 inch layers or 4 small ones. Cook about 35 minutes or until cake springs from side of pans. |
