FRENCH BREAKFAST PUFFS 
1/3 c. soft shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk

Beat shortening with sugar; add egg. Then mix in other dry ingredients and add milk. Half fill greased small or large muffin tins. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING (reserve until end) :
6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

While hot, roll in topping mixture.
