APPLE CRISP 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
4 c. apples, sliced
1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Work butter, sugar, salt and flour together until crumbly. Place apples in greased baking dish. Add water and flavoring. Cover with flour mixture.

Bake in moderate oven (375°F) until apples are tender; about 1 hour.
