MAPLE NUT LOAF 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. milk
3/4 tsp. maple flavoring
1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add egg, milk and flavoring, mixing only until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in nut meats. Grease a 10 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan, dust with flour and pour in batter. Let stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake in 350 degree oven. Remove from pan and cool on rack. Wrap and store 24 hours before serving in order to obtain thin, even slices.
