Ham Baked in Beer

I decided to go with this recipe because I had most the ingredients on hand. I bought Molasses for a different recipe a long time and never thought I would find a need for it until now. I was assigned Ham for our family Thanksgiving. Spiral cuts were all sold out. While making this I substituted Fresca for the ginger ale since I didn't have it. After mixing the beer and molasses the taste had me concerned I felt it needed to be sweeten so I added pineapple juice and Brown Sugar. After pouring half of the liquid mixture over the ham I made a 1 to 1.5 inch grid on the whole ham in a diagonal pattern inserting cloves at each point and attaching pineapple slices with maraschino cherries in the center with toothpicks. Added the rest of the basting liquid and re basted every 20 to 30 minutes. After slicing the cooked ham we chopped up the cherries and pineapples placing them on top of the ham on the platter. Deglazed the pan with water and sprinkled that on top too. The family loved it and there was no left overs only turkey. Amazing!!!
