1 pkg. mincemeat 1 pkg. dates, chopped 2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 c. hot water 1/2 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 3 c. flour, sifted 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. pecans, chopped Combine mincemeat, dates, baking soda and hot water; set aside. Next cream together shortening, sugar and eggs. Now add date mixture to creamed mixture. Add flour a little at a time; mix well. Then add vanilla and pecans. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours in a greased and floured pan. |
