TOMATO SOUP CAKE 
2 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. powdered cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. prepared mincemeat
2 eggs, well beaten
1 can Campbell's tomato soup
2 c. chopped nuts
(Optional - candied fruits, raisins, etc.)

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, mincemeat. Mix thoroughly. Blend in eggs. Add flour mixture alternately with soup. Stir until smooth. Mix in nuts.

Pour into a greased 9 1/2 x 3 inch tube pan. Bake about 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. Cover with your favorite frosting, or serve with hard sauce.

(Optional - on top of white frosting (if at Christmas time) put red holly and green leaves.)
