EASY APPLE BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped apples
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Cream until light and fluffy. Add salt and vanilla; mix well. Add eggs and beat well. Add milk, apples, and nuts. Mix well again. Add flour and baking powder, which has been sifted together, stir well. Pour in a well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Remove and cool well. Prepare glaze below and pour over bread, let drizzle down the sides. Wrap in plastic and store 24 hours before slicing.

GLAZE:

1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tbsp. water

Mix well and set aside.
