1 c. butter
3 c. sugar

Beat together until foamy or light. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, beating 5 minutes after adding each egg. Add: 3 c. flour (not cake flour) 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. flavoring

Mix thoroughly and pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or slightly longer. Do not be alarmed if cake cracks--nature of cake.
