FRIED APPLES AND CARROTS 
6 tart apples
6 med. carrots
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt

Scrape carrots and cut in lengthwise slices. Slice unpeeled cored apples in crosswise slices. Melt butter in large frypan. Place carrots and apples in the pan in a single layer. Cover and cook until browned. Turn and brown other side. Just before they are done, sprinkle with sugar and salt.
