HOMEMADE PANCAKE SYRUP 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
3/4 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
Dash of salt
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring

Mix brown sugar, water, butter and salt in saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in maple flavoring. Serve warm.

SUGAR-FREE SYRUP
I can't have sugar in my diet so I've been looking to make my own. I used this recipe with 3/4 cup Pyure stevia in place of the 1.5c brown sugar. I didn't have salt or maple so I did vanilla and skipped the salt. Very good to put on your plate and let your pancakes soak it up, but does need thickening... I'll have to play with that one.
