SWEDISH MEATLESS BALLS 
1 1/2 tbsp. butter or oil
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. walnuts
3/4 stale bread crumbs
1 1/2 tbsp. chopped onions
1 1/2 tbsp. green peppers
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 egg
1/4 tsp. soy sauce

Mix butter and flour, add milk. Cook until thickened. Add nuts, bread crumbs, onion, green pepper, lemon juice, soy sauce and salt to taste. Form into balls, dip in egg that has been beaten with 2 tablespoons cold water, then dip in fine bread crumbs. Brown in oil. Makes about 30 meatless balls. Serves 4.
