STREUSEL-TOPPED APPLE CUSTARD PIE | |
1 (9 inch) unbaked shell 2 eggs 1/4 c. butter, melted Dash of nutmeg 1/2 c. unsifted flour 1/4 c. cold butter 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1 1/2 lbs. sliced apples 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand milk 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar Place rack in lowest position in oven; preheat to 425 degrees. Arrange apples in shell. In medium bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, melted butter, cinnamon and nutmeg, mix well. Pour over apples. In medium bowl, combine sugar and flour, cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle over pie. Bake 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees. Bake 35 to 40 minutes longer or until golden brown. Cool and refrigerate leftovers. |
