H.'S CHOCOLATE PIE 
Crust, partly cooked
4 eggs, separated
1 tbsp. plain flour, heaped
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
3 tbsp. cocoa (1/3 c.)
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter

Mix sugar, flour, and butter. Add to egg yolks and milk, vanilla. Mix 3 tablespoons cocoa and 1 tablespoon sugar in hot water. Add to mixture.

Bake at 425 degrees until firm. Add meringue. Cool.

MERINGUE: 1/3 teaspoon cream of tartar added to 4 stiffly beaten egg whites.
