DILL PICKLES 
2 c. water
1 c. cider vinegar
2 tsp. dill seed
4 tbsp. salt
1/4 alum powder
1 clove garlic

Put cucumbers in jar. Put water, vinegar, salt and alum powder in pan. Bring to boil; pour over cucumbers. Put cloves and dill seed on top. Let stand 3 weeks.
