SPAGHETTI SAUCE
Olive oil
1 lg. onion, chopped
6 garlic butts, crushed
3 sm. cans tomato paste
2 lg. cans crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce or juice
1-1 1/2 qt. water (depends on how big your pan is)
1/2 c. sugar
Italian seasoning
2 bay leaves
Salt & pepper to taste
1 box spaghetti, cooked

Put in enough olive oil to cover bottom of pan. Heat oil; brown onion and garlic slowly on low heat. Do not burn garlic. Add tomato paste and cook on low for about 5 minutes, stirring so as not to burn. Add tomatoes, sauce or 1 large can tomato juice and desired water. Add sugar and spices and bring to boil. Then cook on low for several hours or all day; stirring often.

Add meatballs, chicken or sausage if desired. Add a little olive oil to boiling water when cooking pasta. Serve sauce over pasta with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
