ICE CREAM CUSTARD 
1 qt. milk
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 c. evaporated milk
1 tbsp. vanilla

Heat milk in top of double boiler. Beat eggs in a bowl and add sugar and salt. Add the hot milk then return to double boiler. Cook over hot water, stirring constantly for 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat, strain, add evaporated milk and vanilla then pour into freezer can.
