CHEWY BAR COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Blend butter and sugars. Do not mix too much if a chewy cookie is desired. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Spread in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut into bars while still warm, but leave in pan until cold. Yield: 4 dozen.

I made this with only 1 cup of Splenda/Brown Sugar mix, whole wheat and mixed nuts for the 1 cup. The kids LOVED it!
