3 MINUTE FROSTING 
2 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cold water
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. light Karo syrup

Substitute 1/2 cup brown sugar to make caramel icing.

Mix all ingredients, then place in double boiler and beat 3 minutes. Remove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract.

NOTE: This recipe uses much less sugar than normal 7 minute frosting recipe. Frosts 9 x 13 inch cake.
