DALE'S COFFEE/WHISKEY MARINADE FOR STEAKS | |
I don't know what gave me the idea of whiskey and coffee together as a marinade but it's been a favorite at my barbecues for the last 4 years! 2 to 4 steaks, 1/2 to 1-inch thick (your steak of choice is fine) MARINADE: 8 to 10 cups strong brewed coffee 2 shots of your favorite whiskey (per steak) 2 tbsp. Montreal Steak seasoning 1 tbsp. chopped garlic 1/2 small onion, chopped 1/2 tsp. fresh cracked pepper 1/4 tsp. sea salt 1 Ziploc bag (gallon size) First thing you need to do is brew a pot of coffee (the stronger the better), and let cool down. While your waiting for the coffee to cool down, gather and prep remaining ingredients. Once the coffee is cooled down, pour it into the Ziploc bag and add the rest of the ingredients. I found that Evan Williams whiskey gave the best flavor so far. Once all the ingredients are in the bag, seal it up and mix everything together. Add steaks and work out as much of the air as possible from the bag. Seal up the bag tight and work marinade into the steaks. Place in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours. Remove close to cook time and let meat reach about room temperature. Grill according to taste. Submitted by: Dale Eddington |
