TOSTADA STYLE LASAGNA 
2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. crushed dried red pepper
8 lasagna noodles
4 c. Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
Lettuce
Broken tortilla chips

Cook meat and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, oregano, chili powder and red pepper. Simmer, uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in beans. Layer noodles, meat mixture and cheese, with cheese as the last topping.

Bake 1 1/2 hours, 400 degrees, covered, then bake 10 minutes uncovered. Serve with lettuce, and tortilla chips. Very good frozen and warmed up.
