ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 box dates
1 lb. candy orange slices
2 c. chopped nuts
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 can angel flake coconut

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour alternately with milk.

Chop dates, nuts and orange slices in small pieces, roll in flour. Add along with the coconut to batter.

Bake in tube pan at 250 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

ORANGE SAUCE:

1 c. orange juice
2 c. powdered sugar

Mix well. Pour over cake as soon as take from the oven. Let stand in pan overnight.
