ANGEL FLAKE BISCUITS | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. very warm water (110-115 degrees) 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/8 c. sugar 1/3 c. plus 2 tsp. vegetable oil 1 c. buttermilk Dissolve yeast in water. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Combine oil and buttermilk with yeast and add at once to dry ingredients. Stir quickly with wooden spoon. Blend until mixed. (Can be refrigerated 3 days.) Turn dough out onto a floured board and knead lightly. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter, place in oiled pan with sides touching. Let dough rise slightly before baking at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Makes 1 dozen. |
