FLAKE BISCUITS 
5 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. baking powder
1 c. Crisco
1 cake or env. yeast
3 tbsp. 85-degree water
2 c. buttermilk
3 tbsp. sugar

Sift flour, salt, soda, baking powder and sugar together. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add yeast and buttermilk to dry ingredients and stir with a fork until a soft dough is formed.

Turn out on lightly floured board and knead briefly. Store in tightly closed plastic bag in refrigerator. Use as needed. Pat out dough and cut with biscuit cutter.

Do not let rise at any time. Bake on greased cookie sheet in preheated 400-450 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
