BEEF SUKIYAKI | |
2 1/2 lbs. boneless sirloin of beef 1 tsp. seasoned meat tenderizer 2 garlic cloves, crushed 1/4 c. salad oil 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms 2 c. green onions in 4 inch pieces 1 (5 oz.) can bamboo shoots (optional) 1/4 c. soy sauce 1 to 2 tsp. honey or brown sugar 1/4 tsp. pepper Trim fat off meat. Wipe meat with damp paper. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon meat tenderizer. Rub with garlic. Cut into 1/4 inch thick slices. Heat 1/4 cup oil in large skillet. Cook quickly 2 or 3 minutes until lightly brown. Push to side of pan. Add mushrooms and onions. Cook stirring constantly about 3 minutes. Add soy sauce, brown sugar and pepper. Serve at once with rice. |
