ORIGINAL SOUTHERN MINT JULIP | |
Sm. chunks ice Tender young mint leaves 1 tsp. sugar 1 oz. water 1 oz. whiskey 1 cherry Sprig of mint Place a layer of small chunks of ice then 2 or 3 tender mint leaves. Continue until glass is full. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of sugar in 1 ounce of water. Pour syrup over glass of ice and add 1 ounce whiskey. Decorate rim of glass with cherry and sprig of mint. NOTE: Never use mint that has gone to seed. Use just tender, young shoots of mint. |
