ITALIAN MEAT SAUCE 
1/4 c. olive oil
1 pressed clove garlic (more if desired)
1 lb. ground round
1/4 lb. Italian sausage (mild or hot)
1 lg. can Italian tomatoes, chopped
1 sm. can Italian tomato paste
1/2 c. tomato sauce
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. beef bouillon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf
1 to 2 tbsp. oregano
1 to 2 tbsp. basil
Optional: raw salad style shrimp, shelled & deveined

Heat oil. Add all remaining ingredients except mushrooms and shrimp. Simmer the sauce at least 1 hour (the longer the better). Add mushroom the last 15 minutes of cooking time and shrimp the last 5 minutes of cooking time. Serve over cooked spaghetti or noodles and top with grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.
