190 proof! In Canada I think you can be jailed for life! We used to use alcohol but that is also not available anymore, we just double up the vodka and drink twice a as fast as our American neighbours!

You can also substitute a high quality vodka for the grain alcohol.

I've made Kahlua for years. I use 1 pint everclear, 1 liter vodka and 8 oz. vanilla.

Many torpedoes in WWII failed because the sailors drank the "torpedo juice" which was pure grain alcohol - EVERCLEAR.

When I make Kahlua I use 100% Vodka. Add vodka when making Black Russian. 1 part to 1 part. Be careful, this is a sipping recipe.

Where do you get the 190 proof alcohol grain?

I live in oregon and you can buy "Everclear" which is 190 proof in any liquor store........It makes the best homemade much better than vodka, plus then you don't have to add vodka for black russians ect....

In Wisconsin, we can get Everclear (190 proof) at the grocery store in the liquor isle or the liquor stores.
