GRANNY CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 (#2) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, flour, soda and salt together in a bowl, then add the eggs and pineapple. Pour into a 13 x 9 inch greased and floured pan. Mix brown sugar and nuts in a separate bowl and sprinkle over cake batter. Bake cake 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

While this is baking, bring to a boil the milk, stick of butter, 1/2 cup sugar. Cook over medium heat until it thickens. Remove from heat, add vanilla and pour over cake as soon as it comes from the oven.
