CREAMED ONIONS 
4 med. onions, sliced 1/4 inch thick
1/4 c. butter (4 tbsp.)
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. milk

Saute onions in butter over low heat until crisp-tender. (Do not brown.) Sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir until thickened. (Can be sprinkled with crushed saltines and baked a short time.)

Microwave directions: Cook onions in 1 1/2 quart bowl 3-4 minutes until almost crisp-tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover. Cook 5-6 minutes; stir twice. Let stand 5 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
