APPLE SNACK BARS | |
1 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. quick oatmeal 1 c. applesauce 1/3 c. cooking oil 6 oz. chopped dried fruit mix 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. honey 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped nuts Combine flour, oatmeal, soda and spice. Combine applesauce, honey, oil and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients and then stir in fruit and nuts. Combine 3/4 cup crushed bran flakes and 2 tablespoons butter. Put 1/2 in greased 9x13x2 inch pan. Drop batter over bran, spread evenly. Sprinkle with rest of bran mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool, cut into 28 bars. Per bar: 125 calories, 2 gr protein, 20 gr carbohydrates, 5 gr fat, 3 mg cholesterol, 36 mg sodium. |
