SANTA'S SEAFOAM | |
3 c. sugar 1/2 c. light corn syrup 2/3 c. water 2 egg whites 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. marshmallow cream 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped nutmeats Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy 2-quart saucepan. Stir over low heat to dissolve sugar. Bring to a boil, cover. Boil gently 3 minutes, uncover. Boil to a hard ball stage (265 degrees). Remove from heat. In a separate bowl, beat egg white and salt until stiff but not dry. Add marshmallow cream and beat until stiff. Add hot syrup in a thin stream, beating constantly. Add vanilla, beat until dull and stiff enough to hold its shape. Fold in nutmeats. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. |
