APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD 
1 c. sugar
1 c. applesauce
1/3 c. cooking oil
2 eggs
3 tbsp. milk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Combine sugar, applesauce, oil, eggs and milk. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Add to applesauce mixture and beat well. Stir in the nut meats. Turn into greased bread pan.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle evenly over the batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. To prevent excessive browning cover loosely with foil for the last 30 minutes of baking. Remove from pan.
