PINTO APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD 
2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. bean puree
1 c. chopped nuts
1/3 c. dried egg mix
3 tbsp. melted shortening
1 c. applesauce
1/4 c. water

Sift all ingredients together. Add nuts and mix well. Add shortening, applesauce and water. Mix. Add beans gradually. Bake in two loaf pans at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

BEAN PUREE:

Drain beans. Put 2 cups unseasoned cooked beans in blender. Add 1/4 cup bean liquid and blend at medium speed. Puree should circulate slowly and smoothly. Use immediately as it will thicken after it cools.
