KATHY'S SQUASH AND APPLE BAKE 
2 lb. winter squash
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. melted butter
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt or less
1/2 tsp. mace or nutmeg
2 baking apples, cut into 1/2 inch slices

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Pare squash and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Arrange squash with apple slices on top in ungreased baking dish. Stir together remaining ingredients and sprinkle on top. Cover. Bake 50-60 minutes until tender. 6 servings.

To speed baking, parboil squash before combing dish.
