SQUASH AND APPLE BAKE | |
2 lb. butternut squash 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 2 baking apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices Cut squash into halves; remove seeds and fibers. Pare squash. Cut into 1/2-inch slices. Mix brown sugar, butter, flour and salt. Arrange squash in ungreased oblong baking dish. Top with apple slices. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top. Cover and cook in 350°F oven until squash is tender, about 50-60 minutes. Makes 6 servings. Submitted by: Suzanne Magner |
