JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
3 c. unsifted flour 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. cooking oil 4 unbeaten eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 c. orange juice 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. cinnamon 3 tbsp. sugar 6 thinly sliced apples In a large bowl, mix together the first 8 ingredients. Combine cinnamon with 3 tablespoons sugar and add to apple slices. Layer batter with apples in a greased and floured tube pan, alternating each and beginning with batter, ending with apples. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 1 hour. Test with straw or toothpick. Sprinkle with powdered sugar after cool. |
