OLD FASHIONED HARD CANDY 
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
3/4 c. light corn syrup
Food coloring
1/2 tsp. flavoring

Mix sugar, corn syrup and water together and cook to 300 degrees on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add flavoring and mix well.

Color Combinations:

Red - cinnamon

Green - wintergreen

Blue - clove

Clear - peppermint

Black - anise

Pour onto a well greased pan. The moment the candy is cool enough to touch, cut into 1/2" strips with scissors, then cut into tiny chunks. The ideal set up is to have one person cut strips and another cut chunks. Drop candies on well greased cookie sheets. Makes lots.
