13-15 cucumbers (fresh picked - do not wash) SYRUP: 8 c. sugar 4 c. cider vinegar (4% if possible) 5 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. pickling spice Boil 5 minutes and pour over cucumbers to cover. Do this for 4 mornings. On the 5th morning, drain and slice. Pour syrup over and let stand 2 or 3 days. Heat to boiling and can. |
