SCALLOPED TOMATOES | |
2 (16 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes 1/3 c. butter 1/4 c. tomato ketchup 2 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. black pepper 24 saltine crackers, crushed 1 sm. onion, chopped or grated 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, optional Place butter in 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish, mix all ingredients well. Pour into dish. Bake 35-40 minutes in 325 degree oven, or until lightly brown on edges. Garnish with whole saltines or cheese. If using cheese, put back into oven and let cheese melt. Serves 6-8 people. |
