HAM LOAF WITH TOMATO SAUCE | |
2 lb. ground ham 1 c. bread crumbs 4 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. chopped green peppers 1/2 c. chopped onions 1 tsp. garlic salt 2 tbsp. butter 1 c. tomato sauce 1 tsp. sage 3 tsp. flour 1 c. milk 1/2 c. cream 1 c. mushrooms In a large bowl combine the ham, bread crumbs, beaten eggs, green pepper, onions, garlic salt, sage, flour, milk and cream. Mix the ingredients together well. Pour into a 2-quart baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven. Saute the mushrooms in the butter, add the tomato sauce and stir over low heat 10 minutes. Pour sauce over the top of ham loaf for serving. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
