MARY KNOBLETTS' NO KNEAD DOUGHNUTS | |
1 c. scalded milk 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. water 2 eggs 6 tbsp. shortening 2 pkgs. yeast 6 1/2 c. flour 2 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. salt Vanilla if desired Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool, lukewarm by adding water. Add yeast and mix well. After blending in eggs and flour stir and mix to soft dough. Let rise until double in bulk. Roll out on floured board and cut. Let stand about 1/2 hour. Fry in deep fat and drain on absorbent paper. Dip in icing to glaze while warm. GLAZE: 1 box powdered sugar, add vanilla if desired. Add water gradually to powdered sugar until it makes a thin icing. |
