I got this recipe from The Jenifer House in Great Barrington about 40 years ago and I have been making them ever since. EVERYONE loves these cookies. Soft, chewy, spicy, delicious!

When I was 5 years old (1972), my family moved from LA to upstate NY for a year. We visited Jenifer House. My mom was given the recipe for these amazing cookies, and my sisters and I have been making them for decades at Christmas!

Also loved the peanut butter cookies from Jennifer house. Bought tons of dishes from barn and never left with less than 4 dozen cookies. Anyone have the recipe for the peanut butter cookies?
