9 c. finely shredded green or red cabbage
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
3/4 c. mayonnaise
1/3 c. sweet pickle relish
4 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/3 c. vinegar

In bowl, combine shredded cabbage and onion. Chill.

For dressing: Combine remaining ingredients. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Chill.

To serve: Pour dressing over cabbage mixture; toss lightly to coat. Makes 12 servings.
