BUTTERSCOTCH COFFEE CAKE | |
2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. butter or shortening 2 c. flour 2 eggs 1 c. sour milk 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla Nut meats and coconut Mix the brown sugar, butter, and flour until crumbly. Save out 2/3 cup for topping. Beat eggs; add sour milk, baking soda, baking powder, and vanilla; add to the crumbly mixture. Mix well. Spread in a 13 inch oblong greased loaf pan. Mix nut meats and some coconut to the left over crumbs and sprinkle on the batter. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. |
