1/2 lb. butter, do not substitute
1/2 lb. Crisco, do not substitute
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa

Sift together dry ingredients. Cream Crisco, butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured large tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until tests done. Improves on standing a day or two.
